Rice With Chicken Curry

Chicken rice is one of the most famous foods in the bodybuilding sector. However, many times it is consumed with a little reluctance due to its repetitive flavor. In this case we will explain a recipe that you will surely love to eat the rice with the chicken.

This recipe for rice with chicken curry is a typical food of the gastronomy of India . Although the original recipe is made with other ingredients, in this case we wanted to modify some ingredients so that the nutritional value of this one is better.

On the one hand, we have a source of complex carbohydrates provided by basmati or parboiled rice. On the other hand, this recipe will provide us with a fairly reasonable amount of protein . We know that this macronutrient is of vital importance for the life of any person and especially of an athlete. Finally, we have a small amount of fat . It is true that these fats are not from the best source (the cream part), however, being a small amount will not cause us problems.

Nutritional value

The total caloric content of the recipe is 1067kcal (counting the oil used for cooking). However, this recipe is intended for 2 servings (in some cases there will be no problem dividing into 3 servings). Therefore, each serving of this recipe will contain 524.5 kcal , with the following distribution of macronutrients:

  • Protein : 42.97 g
  • Carbohydrates : 62.33 g.
  • Fat : 12.27 g.

Ingredients

  • 300g chicken breast
  • 160g of rice (can be steamed, basmati or any other variety)
  • 100g of light cream for cooking (we can put the amount that we like the most)
  • 2 tablespoons of crushed tomato
  • Spices (turmeric, cumin and curry, pepper)

Preparation

Make the rice and prepare the rest of the ingredients

The first thing we will do is put the rice in a pot so that it is done while we cook the rest of the things. In my case, I estimate about 80g of rice per person. Also, the rice to use may be the one you like the most, in my case the ones I like the most are the steamed and the basmati.

Meanwhile, cut the onion and chicken into small pieces. Once cut, put the onion in a pan with a little oil and brown it.

We make the mixture of spices

Once we have the rest of the ingredients cooking, we will take advantage to make the spice mixture. In a bowl or glass we will put the mixture (2 small tablespoons of curry, 1 of turmeric and half a tablespoon of cumin). Quantities can be tailored to your tastes, play around with spices to improve flavor!

Add the mixture to the onion

Once we have the golden onion (in my case I do not like it very done), we add the 2 tablespoons of crushed tomato (it can be worth any fried tomato) and later, when it is well stirred, we add the glass with the spices.

Cooking the chicken

In this step, we will add the previously cut chicken into small pieces (in my case into squares) to the pan, along with the onion. In addition, we will add a little salt and a little pepper.

The cooking time of the chicken will depend on how we like it, but it should not extend more than 4 minutes.

Add the cream to the chicken

Now, we will add the light cream to the pan that contains the chicken and the onion.

We will let the chicken with the cream a little (4-5 minutes) and take its flavor.
