Lentil hummus to add variety
It is common to see hummus recipes with chickpeas, but lentils can also provide a fairly good version. In this case we have chosen red lentils because they are easier to digest, and in hummus it becomes much more digestive. Also, since they have no skin, it is not necessary to soak them.
Furthermore, it also contains tahini, which is a paste made from ground sesame. Sesame is a quite interesting food, since it provides a large amount of calcium and zinc. Without a doubt, we get a dish with a great nutritional content, light, low in calories and perfect for lunch or dinner.
Ingredients
- 100 grams of red lentil
- Carrots
- The juice of half a lemon
- 1 tablespoon of tahini
- Salt and spices to taste
- Paprika
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
Preparation
For 5-7 minutes we bring the lentils to a boil. It is important that you do not leave them to soak beforehand, since they do not have a shell.
In a blender we put the cooked lentils, the tahini, the olive oil, the spices and the lemon juice. We beat well until there is a homogeneous paste.
We serve and accompany with raw carrot sticks.
