Healthy baked churros, and without oil!

Churros with a breakfast (and snack) typical of Spain, but very few nutritionists recommend its consumption if we want to take care of food and lead a healthy lifestyle. But don't worry, we have the solution! This sweet is typically made fried in oil, making it an authentic calorie bomb. To reduce that calorie content, we suggest healthy baked churros, without oil!

And with homemade chocolate

It would be foolish to have a healthy recipe and screw it up by consuming a sugar-laden chocolate. We love creating our own chocolate for dipping, although in this case we would not recommend it for drinking (due to its thickness). In a small glass, heat a little water and add a tablespoon of 100% cocoa powder. Stir so that there is a thick mixture, in which you can bathe the healthy churros.

churros saludables

You don't need to add any kind of sweetener to it, but if it's too bitter, you can put in a couple of drops of liquid stevia.

Ingredients

  • 100 grams of wholemeal oatmeal
  • 210 grams of milk or digital drink
  • Stevia powder to taste
  • Vanilla

Preparation

Put the flour in a bowl

In a large bowl, put the flour next to the stevia.

We boiled the milk

We bring the milk or vegetable drink to a boil in a saucepan.

When it starts to boil, gradually add the vegetable drink to the flour mixture.

We form a dough

We begin to integrate all the ingredients well with the help of a fork, until we get a thick and homogeneous mass. You will have a flexible dough.

We shape

We preheat the oven to 200ºC and let the dough temper a little.

We pass the dough to a pastry bag and start making the churros on a baking paper (placed on the tray).

Bake!

We let the churros bake for 15-20 minutes at 200ºC. Although it is convenient to take a look at them, because each oven is different.
