Chocolate nut snacks

Dried fruits are an essential food in any healthy and balanced diet. Experts recommend that they be consumed in their natural version, without added sugars or salt, but sometimes it can become boring. To get out of this monotony of food, we show you how to make a few sandwiches with chocolate coating.

Choose the nuts that you like the most

The advantage of being able to make this recipe is that you have complete freedom to choose the ingredients that you like the most. We have chosen almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts, but you can add cashews, pistachios or pumpkin seeds. You will hallucinate with the result so crunchy that we get with these ingredients.
For chocolate lovers, I suggest adding a dark chocolate topping. You already know that chocolate always improves any recipe, so get one that has a high percentage of cocoa.

bocaditos de frutos secos

I'm sure these nutty snacks are going to become your new favorite snack. Totally healthy, ideal for snacks or to recharge after an intense workout.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams of natural dried fruits (almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts)
  • 4 free-range eggs
  • 12 prunes, cut, pitted
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 3 ounces dark chocolate 85% cocoa
  • Teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoonful of ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Preparation

We chop the nuts

With the help of a food processor or blender, we chop the nuts together with the prunes, the zest and the spices.

We add the eggs

We beat the 4 eggs and add them to the previous mixture. Stir well until there is a homogeneous mass.

Put the mixture in a mold

In a not very narrow mold, pour the mixture and put it in the oven at 175ºC (previously heated). Let it cook for about 30-35 minutes.
To make sure it's perfectly cooked, try the stick.

Take it out of the oven

Let it cool and cut it into small squares. Melt the chocolate (you can do it in a bain-marie, with a little milk or with water). Cover each little piece with a little chocolate, and voila!
