Microwave chocolate flavored oatmeal cake

Do you like to eat something sweet for breakfast? Well, you will love this chocolate-flavored oatmeal cake. Far from having industrial pastries for breakfast, in this case it has a fairly balanced nutritional value. Although we already know that breakfast is not the most important meal of the day, we cannot forget to make a meal with a good nutritional load to maintain proper body function.

On the one hand, it contains a high amount of protein . This protein is of high value, as it contains oats (one of the vegetable sources with the most protein), eggs and milk. We know that the combination of animal and vegetable sources is the best option when consuming protein. Also, in this case, you can use the type of milk or vegetable drink that you like the most, especially if you are lactose intolerant or vegan.

On the other hand, it contains an adequate amount of carbohydrates so as not to create an excessive insulin spike that could cause a subsequent drop. Most of the carbohydrates in this recipe are complex, which will give us more sustained energy than the simple ones.

Finally, it contains a small amount of fats, mainly unsaturated , that will help us meet the daily needs of essential fatty acids.

Also, thanks to the oat flakes, we will have a good supply of fiber . That, as you already know, fiber is a very satiating component that will help us not to starve shortly after eating. In addition, it helps maintain good intestinal transit and digestive health. Without a doubt, this recipe is a way to start the morning with a healthy meal. Although breakfast is usually the food that best fits, we could perfectly introduce it to a different one.

  • 4 teaspoons of sweetener
  • 1.5 teaspoons of yeast
  • 12g defatted pure cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)

Preparation

Add the egg and liquid components

Take a suitable glass to introduce the blender. Add the egg and the egg whites. Subsequently, we will add the vanilla and the sweetener.

Add the rest of the components

Add the oat flakes, cocoa powder, and yeast to the glass with the rest of the ingredients. Cinnamon is optional, but it will give it a flavor similar to brownie, which will be delicious.

Whisk the mixture

Once all the ingredients have been added, we proceed to beat the mixture for approximately 30 seconds. It is not necessary to beat it excessively, simply to crush the oats a little and mix the ingredients well.

Add the mixture to a silicone mold

Add the mixture once whipped to a microwaveable silicone mold (you could use another mold, but in the silicone mold it will not stick and it will be very easy to take it off)

Put it in the microwave

Finally, put the mold in the microwave and leave it for 7.5 minutes (depending on the power of the microwave you will need a little less or a little more).
Once the 7.5 minutes are up, remove it from the mold, wait 1 minute for it to cool and cut it.
