A low carb keto burger

This recipe is very flexible and adapts to everyone's preferences. If you like something specific on your burger, you can make a head chef's decision and add it. Add a little extra pepper to the mixture or even some hot sauce if you like a spicy burger. The key is to keep them low-carb, but otherwise, use this recipe as a starting point to make the burger of your dreams.

There are different types of ground meat that you can use according to your preference or diet. When buying ground beef, keep in mind that the lower the fat percentage, the higher its price. Of course, when you're on a ketogenic diet, more fat can be a good thing! After all, fat is what fuels your body and is something you must have to maintain your energy levels while still in ketosis.

In the recipe you will see that we have added an egg, and it is ideal to keep the meat together when it has been filled with all the other ingredients, but it is not necessary, especially if you knead the meat very well from the beginning.

Ingredients

  • 225 grams of ground beef
  • 1 strip of bacon
  • 1 tablespoon jalapeños, chopped
  • 1/2 tomato
  • 1/4 onion
  • 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise
  • 1 egg
  • 2 leaves of lettuce
  • 2 butter spoons
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil

Preparation

Knead the meat

Knead (press, fold and stretch) the meat for about 3 minutes. This is important because it makes the meat very sticky and keeps it together by adding all the ingredients.

Chop the ingredients

Dice and chop the ingredients very finely so they don't prevent the meat from sticking to itself. Use the bacon, onion, pickled jalapeño, and tomato.

Add it to the meat dough

Add the diced ingredients, sauces (mayonnaise and sriracha), egg (optional), and spices to the meat and mix again for a few minutes to ensure a uniform consistency of the ingredients.

Divide the ball in two

Divide the meatball in half twice and flatten each of the 4 pieces to make very flat patties. Add a tablespoon of butter to the center of two of the meat pieces, then pound the pieces without butter. Seal the sides to finish with 2 delicious ready-to-grill keto burgers.

Cook them on the pan or grill

Put the burgers in the pan (or on the grill!). If you want delicious caramelized onions, add them when you flip the burgers after 5 minutes.

Flip the onions in half so they cook well on both sides. Your keto burger should be done after 5 minutes on the second side.

Use it

Place two large pieces of lettuce with a spread of mayonnaise and put your juicy burgers on them.
Top each one with your favorite toppings. Add caramelized onions, sriracha, a tomato wedge, sliced jalapenos, and more mayonnaise. Cheese and tomato sauce are welcome in the most traditional burger.
