Healthy Donuts with Chocolate Topping

Homer Simpson was missing donuts, and who wasn't! We could be facing one of the greatest creations of the human being, but with so many cardiovascular problems. Most donuts we find in supermarkets or traditional patisseries are made with a large amount of sugar and unhealthy ingredients. It becomes totally impossible to satiate donut cravings when you are on a strict diet or want to take care of your diet.

Donuts without added sugar

Not only do we show you a recipe for this sweet with chocolate, but we also avoid the use of added sugar. Pumpkin is the main ingredient and, although it does not provide a powerful flavor, it does maintain a sweet aftertaste. No need to add sugar or sweetener, but in case you prefer, add a little stevia.

The rest of the ingredients are totally healthy and provide much less calories than the ultra-processed ones. What are you waiting for for breakfast or a snack?

Ingredients

  • 150 gr roasted pumpkin
  • 2 eggs
  • 120 ml of egg whites
  • 100 ml milk
  • 60 gr of oatmeal
  • Cinnamon and stevia to taste
  • 5 gr of baking powder
  • 10 ml coconut oil
  • 15 gr of rice flour
  • 15 gr of defatted pure cocoa
  • 125 ml of water

Preparation

First mix

We roast the pumpkin (in the microwave, with a pot or in the oven). When it is soft, we mix it with the whites, eggs, milk, oatmeal, coconut oil, baking powder, cinnamon and stevia.

Let the dough sit for 10 minutes.

Baked!

Pre-heat the oven.

Pour the dough over the donut molds and bake at 180ºC for about 10-12 minutes. Be careful not to burn them.

Prepare coverage

In a small saucepan, we dissolve the rice flour and pure cocoa in the water. Put it on the fire and do not stop stirring to see how it thickens and you get the texture you want.

Serve them!

Pour the chocolate topping over the donuts and let them rest a bit.
