Whole wheat spelled pizza (low calorie)

Enjoying a good spelled pizza with healthy ingredients is not always possible, much less if we buy it pre-cooked. This recipe can be perfectly integrated into the diet of anyone who cares about their diet, even if they are on a weight loss program. On this occasion we have chosen spelled as a whole grain cereal for the base, which, as you already know, provides numerous health benefits.

With healthy, low-calorie ingredients

Since we are going to bet on a healthy version of one of the most demanded dishes in any house, it would be a mistake to add ingredients loaded with low quality fats, sauces or proteins. In the recipe you will not find marked toppings, because we want you to be the one to choose them.

Can't you think of anything? You can add vegetables (peppers, zucchini, arugula, onion, carrots, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower …), lean proteins (tuna or canned salmon, anchovies, shredded chicken, burrata cheese …) and many spices (cumin, turmeric, oregano, pepper, paprika, curry …). Any idea is valid!

Ingredients

  • 500 grams of spelled flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons of dry yeast

Preparation

We prepare the dough

Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl.

In a separate bowl, we dissolve the yeast in 360 ml of warm water.

We add the olive oil to the yeast and then we mix all the ingredients to form a dry mass.

Knead on a floured surface so that it becomes a smooth dough.

Let the dough rest in a bowl for 40 minutes to double its size.

We shape the dough

We preheat the oven to 200ºC.

We place the dough on a floured surface and knead a little.

We divide it into 4 portions and extend each dough with a rolling pin making circles of about 20 cm.

Add your favorite ingredients

Place your favorite ingredients (healthy, of course) on the surface.

Bake for 40 minutes, and enjoy!
