Vejer de la Frontera is one of the most beautiful towns in Spain. In 1976 it was declared a historical-artistic complex , one of the popularly known as “white villages” . These surprise everyone who visits its streets and beaches. But in this article we will not talk about this beautiful town, but about one of its most spectacular beaches, El Palmar .
Where is El Palmar beach located?
El Palmar is one of the most natural areas in southern Andalusia, considered one of the best beaches in the Community. Its fine golden sand, which stretches for 8 kilometers in length, is perfect for spending entire afternoons sunbathing. It is also an ideal setting with excellent conditions for surfing and adventure sports. Its waters are shallow and very clean, so they always attract the bather to cool off, especially children.
This beach is located between Conil de la Frontera and Zahara de los Atunes, and is the only one that exists in the town of Vejer de la Frontera, a municipality that is located a few meters from this Eden.
How to get to El Palmar?
You can get to El Palmar by the A-2233 road , from which the agricultural roads appear, perfect for heading to this beach. When traveling on this road it is normal that you see country houses, orchards and cattle. Let’s not forget that one of the characteristics that make El Palmar a unique and special place is its perfect symbiosis between the beach and the nature of its rural surroundings. During the journey almost all the lanes (although some are not signposted) lead you to the coast, all being passable for tourists. Depending on the lane you choose, you will reach one part or another of the beach.
We must be careful when parking our vehicle , since there are parking spaces enabled and leaving the car in an inappropriate area could be subject to a fine.
