Microwave sweet potato chips

Eating a healthy and balanced diet is not synonymous with radically eliminating our cravings and suffering an ordeal. There are very healthy versions of salty snacks like kale or kale chips that we showed you in this recipe. Today we bring you some chips very similar to those typical of potato bags, but much more fit. The sweet potato is a tuber that provides numerous benefits to our body and that we have not yet fully integrated into our diet.

Oil and fry free

The recipe is quite simple and you will only need the sweet potato and the spices you want to add to flavor it. There are possibilities of adding vinegar, salt, grated cheese, olive oil, but we have preferred that you bet on the "light" version . No oils, no frying, just spices.
The good thing about this recipe is that we will not need a deep fryer, nor a frying pan. The microwave is the star appliance that will make our chips crispy by removing the water they contain.

Without a doubt, it is a very healthy option to add as a garnish or as a savory snack craving . You can not imagine how rich they are and how little calories they are, compared to the stock market. Obviously, at first it will cost you more work to do them and have patience in cutting very fine, but the reward for your body will be greater.

Ingredients

  • 1 clean sweet potato (peeled or not)
  • Spices to taste

Preparation

Cut the sweet potato

Using a sharp knife, cut the sweet potato into very thin slices so that they are crispy.

Put them in water

In a bowl of very cold water, put the sweet potato slices and leave them for 1 minute, more or less.
Then dry them very well with kitchen paper.
We do this process to remove excess starch and help make them crispier.

In a frozen bag …

Put all the slices and add the spices that you like the most (salt, pepper, paprika, curry, garlic powder …). The reason for putting it in a freezer bag is to facilitate the mixing of spices without staining our hands.

On a tray / plate …

Use baking paper on a tray and put the slices apart from each other. Make sure it fits in your microwave.
It is important that they are not very close to each other so that they do not stick.

Microwave!

Microwave the slices for about 5-7 minutes. Make sure they are golden brown to make sure they are ready.
