How does sport affect our skin?

The practice of sport is vital to have a good functioning of our body and keep us healthy, although this does not prevent us from occasionally suffering injuries or other types of disadvantages. When we do some physical activity, our skin is exposed to the environment around it. If we are outdoors, we will have to face the wind, the sun, the temperature, the pollution … Or, if we are in the gym, we will be in danger from the bacteria that are swarming among the machines.

Having proper hygiene and protection care will make our skin suffer as little as possible.

Monitor the loss of facial fat

When we focus on doing aerobic or cardio activities, fat loss increases and we will also notice it on our face. We will see more marked cheekbones, our facial volume will be reduced and wrinkles will be more visible. Try not to become an addiction to see your thin face because it is not healthy for our bones to be excessively marked.

Hydrate and protect yourself from the sun

Hydration through water is essential, but in cold times there are likely to be very dry and cut areas of your body. Apply moisturizer, aloe vera or one with an oil formula. Be careful if you have oily skin, since the use of products with oil can cause the appearance of pimples.

Of course, using sunscreen both in cream and in glasses and caps is very important. In this way we avoid clothing brands, which always annoy our tan.

Use a towel only for the face

It is normal that you use the gym towel that you put in the machines and then dry your sweat. Avoid this, especially if you use it for the face as well. You are bringing all the bacteria into your open pores. You already know the result: acne.

Facial sagging?

Although we notice it minimally, repeated impacts against the ground cause our face muscles to relax. The most recommended is to hydrate our face, neck and décolleté very well.

Avoid oxidative stress

First of all: what is oxidative stress? When we do cardio physical activity, oxygen consumption is high and causes the oxidation of the skin to accelerate (hydration is lost).
To prevent this from becoming a problem, experts recommend doing cardio 2-3 times a week and in a moderate way. Also, a diet rich in Vitamin C, A, E and beta-carotene will help a lot.
