Go camping in Galicia: recommendations to take advantage of the experience

What interests many most is leaving 2020 behind. Some are already looking for places to go next summer, hoping that the coronavirus crisis has already passed. Going camping in Galicia is one of the plans that we propose for the 2021 summer season. And it is that Galicia is very magical and has so much to offer that we are sure it will catch you and you will not want to leave it.

Where to go camping in Galicia?

Cabío campsite

The Ría de Arosa Camping is divided into 2: beach camping and rural camping. You already know that in Galicia everything is linked to the sea, but it also has excellent pine forests to get lost and to camp. The Ría de Arosa I campsite, or Cabío campsite, is one of the most surprising destinations in the Galician Rías Baixas. Here they offer bungalows and cabins for all tastes, as well as pitches at super affordable prices to spend the night. You can stay in a cabin for 2 people or in a bungalow for 4 or 6 people, with a full bathroom. In addition, of course, kitchen and terrace equipment.

This campsite is located a few steps from Cabío beach, in the municipality of Puebla del Caramiñal in La Coruña. Cabío is an ideal beach to go with children; you can surf or rent a kayak and also play volleyball on the sand. If you are hungry, we recommend you go to La Chiringuita, the campsite’s own restaurant. If you ever visit, order the burger, you won’t regret it! If you are looking for more traditional food, you have a couple of restaurants on the shore of the beach, where they serve a paella and some exquisite squid. For a more relaxed plan, when the sun goes down, you can take a short walk to the Illa beach, a few meters away. Here, in summer, La Naviera opens, a small beach bar on the sand.

Coroso campsite

The Coroso campsite, in the Coruña municipality of Riveira, is located in a natural setting between the beaches of Coroso in Santa Eugenia de Riveira and Riazor, in Palmeira. The camping pitches are under a lush pine forest, measuring 30,000 square meters and offering spectacular views. It also has bugalows equipped with all the comforts, if your thing is not camping in a tent and if you don’t have a motorhome. From here you can take walks bordering the best beaches in the area and, why not? Take a dip in one of them. Of course, you will also enjoy the excellent Galician gastronomy.

Ir de camping en Galicia es un plan de cara al próximo verano

Coroso beach is almost 2 kilometers long and has very calm and crystal clear waters, something ideal if you are traveling with children. Here one can spend the day, relaxing on the sand or venturing out on a kayak ride or some windsurfing, stand up paddle or surfing lessons. And it is that on this beach is the Geckos school, where you can go if you are looking for different activities during your stay in Galicia.

Camping Ría de Arosa

Going camping in Galicia is one of our favorite activities and more, when you have such comfortable places to stay. At the Ría de Arosa II campsite, in Oleiros (La Coruña), you can enjoy excellent walking routes. Here they offer rental of tents, 4 and 6-seater bungalows, as well as pitches for motorhomes. It is close to many beaches, but if you are looking for different activities, we tell you that this campsite, for example, is the starting point for many hiking trails. In addition, they offer ATV rental for the more adventurous and archery for the more daring.

For the little ones there is a playground, trampolines, a train ride, and you can even ride a horse or a pony! In addition, the Cascada restaurant, which belongs to the campsite, has a swimming pool. You can go, for example, to Las Furnas beach, a heavenly place that the whole family will like. We also recommend taking a short tour that includes the Dunes of Corrubedo or the viewpoint of the stone of Ra, in Riveira.

Go Camping in Galicia: Cachadelos, Sanxenxo

The Cachadelos campsite has an enviable and unbeatable location. It is located in the Pontevedra municipality of Sanxenxo, in the heart of the Galician Rías Baixas and a few minutes from A Lanzada beach, one of the most beautiful in Galicia. This fabulous campsite has all the comforts so that you only have to worry about looking for an activity to do and relax.

The Cachadelos campsite has an area of approximately 41,000 square meters and is one foot from the beach, as Major is next to its facilities. It has 36 bungalows (of different capacities) with all services and 248 pitches for tents and caravans. Something that stands out in this campsite is the saltwater pool, in the middle of a pine forest and overlooking the beach. Unsurpassed, of course. It also has a cafeteria, restaurant, playground and barbecue area.

Bayona Beach Camping-Bungalow Park

This idyllic campsite is located on a peninsula between Ladeira beach and a marsh that forms the Miñor river at its mouth and belongs to the province of Pontevedra. Going camping in Galicia has never been so new, thanks to the 2-level raised wooden tents that this site offers.

En Bayona ofrecen unas modernas casas de campaña

This is the novelty of the Bayona Playa, as these curious glamping tents have a covered dining room with a lower storage area and a bedroom. Of course, the campsite also has the traditional pitches and modern bungalows with all the comforts and large windows overlooking the beach. A plus? Almost all bungalows include a terrace. But, if that is not enough, we tell you that the premium bungalow has a hydromassage bathtub and a Balinese bed.

The campsite also offers countless activities, including zumba, aquagym and yoga, to keep you in shape. Bubble soccer, inflatables and game workshops for children; and late-night cinema and concerts to end the day.
