Do you know what the order of Marvel movies is?

Growing since 2008, the Marvel Universe has grown exponentially to become the best franchise capable of maintaining continuity on the big screen. Mixing period and contemporary stories, the films have allowed fans to gain a fascinating perspective on the history of the fictional world, with each new release adding another insight to the bigger picture. For this reason, we have designed a guide so that you can follow the order of the Marvel movies and not miss a detail.

There are basically two ways to enjoy the timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe , and we’ll look at both in this article: the first approach is centered on following the order by release date in theaters and on television; and the second is to see all the movies based on when the events occurred, that is, in chronological order.

If you’ve never seen Marvel movies

If the Marvel Universe has never been your thing, but now you’re curious, your best option is to follow the order by release date . After all, that’s how the biggest fans watched movies, and that ultimately made them die-hard fans. If you are a newbie, it is best to focus on this approach to delve into the Marvel Universe.

If you’ve already seen some or all of the Marvel movies

Things change if you’ve seen every Marvel movie before, as that opens the door to get creative with a second viewing. If you’ve seen every movie released so far, but are ready to dive back into the Marvel Universe, chronological ordering is a fun way to mix up the facts and get a new perspective . The franchise in general has maintained continuity well, so you may discover new plots or details that you did not notice before.

Chronological order of Marvel movies

While watching Marvel movies in the order they came out makes a lot of sense, it’s important to note that doing so results in viewers misunderstanding the timeline of all the facts and becoming confused. Therefore, watching the movies in linear order is the best option to know how events unfold with some logic.

Marvel Universe timeline

We have divided the chronology of the phases of Marvel, but there are some ambiguities in this time course : Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was made within Phase Three, but it happens almost immediately after its predecessor; Captain Marvel was one of the final films in Phase Three, but it is set before most of Phase One; And some TV series can’t exactly fit between the different phases of the movie.

Also, while Marvel claims that Spider-Man: Far From Home is the last movie in Phase Three, it takes place after the first two Disney + releases, so we ‘ve adjusted the order to accommodate this.

Marvel Phases

Since its inception, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been divided into phases . But of course, with so many movies, series, stories and characters, it can be difficult to follow the plot in order.
