Residue-free diets are widespread today, let’s say they are a synonym for a bland or low-fiber diet. It is usually a specialist doctor who recommends this type of diet and it will be carried out during a specific period of time. Soups are delicious, but there are some doubts about them and whether or not they belong to a good diet without residues in the face of medical intervention or to calm the outbreaks of certain digestive diseases.

Winter is the season for soups, in addition, in many families there is a tradition of having lunch or dinner with several dishes where you almost always start with a soup, puree, cream or consommé. If we are immersed in a diet low in fiber or diet without residues, it is likely that we think that a soup is suitable in this diet.

Soups are welcome in low-residue diets, as well as creams. purees and consommés, but not just any. You have to take them low in fat, salts and without spicy or spices that can alter us. In addition, we should never take soups and other liquid dishes very cold or very hot, but at a normal medium temperature.

Soups should be as homemade as possible, avoiding as much as possible the ones from sachets, pot creams and the like. You can take up to 2 cups of soup a day and they can only be made of vegetables, as long as they are the vegetables recommended by the expert, such as, for example, zucchini, pumpkin, tomato (without skin or seeds), beets, asparagus, chard, celery, lettuce, artichoke hearts, endives, etc. Meat soups must be natural and fat-free. For its part, cereal creams are only allowed semolina, oats, millet and fine pasta.
